DRAB NOTATIONS FROM A MUNDANE EXISTENCE

THE MUNDANITY EXHIBITION - EXHIBIT I: SHOPPING RECEIPT, Feb 15th 1992
Found this faded receipt at the bottom of an old shoebox. Looks like it was from a Tesco in Oxford (I think on Cowley Road) when I was a student there. No idea why I kept it - I don’t think it has any particular sentimental value - but from looking at it, I can tell you this: Apart from the tuna and sardines, this is a completely vegetarian menu (I assume the frozen burgers were veggie ones) I’d forgotten all about Beanfeast - I used to eat rather a lot of it back in the day £25.41 sounds like a lot of money for a student in the early nineties - considering you could get a pint of beer for less than a quid - so this was a fairly hefty shopping bill for me Amazingly, comparing the prices here with the cheapest prices on Tesco.com today, the vast majority of these items are more or less the same price now, almost 30 years later, with the notable exception of Austrian smoked cheese, which is two and a half times the price at £1.05, and washing up liquid, which is less than half the price at 41p. I can only conclude that back then they were seriously ripping us off
WHO THE HELL IS HE? A brief biography which will be either enlightening or useless, depending on whether you’re looking at this site on a desktop or a mobile FOLLOW ME ON TWITTER To see hilaaarious tweets like this one, about the time I saw a tag for The Blood Wolf Gang on a fence post! You just had to be there!
