Though this song was originally written in 2005 for my abandoned third album Glamoronica,
and could easily have been included on the half-finished EP version I released in
2013, I felt I could probably do a better job of the track if I re-did it from scratch.
More to the point, both my wife and I felt it was extremely important that a song
with a name like this really should have a video to go with it. Since it's basically
just an immense cavalcade of bizarre and meaningless imagery, such a task seemed
incredibly daunting, not to mention potentially expensive, but (primarily inspired
by Steve Oram's work on Aaaaaaaah!) we figured if we take a deliberately lo-fi approach
to the material and just planned our time well, we'd be able to achieve the impossible.
So we took advantage of a mutual holiday period in August to film the green screen
and model work, take pics of most of the backgrounds we needed and do a basic edit,
then I came back to plug the missing gaps and add various extreme video effects in
October and November, after finishing the third series of Crackanory. Hopefully the
colourfully violent result brings the song to life. There's also a brief behind the
scenes snippet available here if you fancy it.
